mobile for Good Exposition (July 23, 2011)
mobile for Good Prize 2011 nominees and finalists were invited to showcase their projects and efforts before the audience from Govt., business sector, social enterprises, other departments and also the participants from 10 South Asian countries. It was mandatory for all the finalists to exhibit their projects and answer the questions put by the Grand Jury members in the exposition area as it was a part of the tasks mentioned under the criteria for the Final Jury. All the Projects were interviewed in the stall area and they were provided good chance for networking through exposition and between the parallel sessions and summits in the mBillionth Award on July 23, 2011.

mobile for Good Session / Jury  & Award Ceremony (July 23, 2011)
mobile for Good Session was held on July 23, 2011 during the mBillionth Award at Hotel Eros Intercontinental, Nehru Place, New Delhi. It was held to celebrate and deliberate the ‘Vodafone mobile for Good’ prize 2011 launched by Vodafone India Foundation in association with Digital Empowerment Foundation. mobile for Good Prize 2011 had accepted 60 applications. In the first screening mobile for Good Award Secretariat had confirmed 43 valid nominations. The Expert Panel short listed 10 applications for the final presentations on July 23, 2011 before the Grand Jury in the mobile for Good Session.

The Session was chaired by Dr. Ajay Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of IT, and co chaired by Mr. Ravinder Takkar, Regional Director – Asia Pacific and Middle East, Vodafone Group. It was moderated by Mr Osama Manzar, Founder & Director Digital Empowerment Foundation and Ms Laura Turkington, Head, Vodafone India Foundation. The other experts Mr. Arvind Rao, Chairman, CEO & Co-Founder, OnMobile, Dr. Amir Ullah Khan, Deputy Director – Strategy, Planning & Management, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Dr. Subho Ray, President, IAMAI, Ms. Geeta Malhotra, Country Director, READ India were present there in the session.

There were 10 presentations made by the Vodafone mobile for Good 2011 finalists. Every presenter had 5 minutes to present and 5 minutes to answer the questions raised by the Grand Jury and the audience. The session was the main part of the whole event when INR 2 million was at stake and each presenter gave his/ her best to showcase their non-profit efforts for developing and benefitting the targeted communities.

The announcement of the two winners was made after the session on July 23, 2011 during mBillionth Award at Hotel Eros Intercontinental, Nehru Place, New Delhi.

The two winners are nominated for the grant fund and mentoring for next one year by Digital Empowerment Foundation.
